Master Allow Create and Allow Edit Form Settings
The first Form Configuration Settings that control request actions are the master Allow Create and Allow Edit toggles. Allow Create and Allow Edit control the ability of requestors to create new requests and edit/publish requests. These settings control fully the users ability to create and edit requests up until the request deadline is reached.
Example Settings:
- Allow Create "Yes" / Allow Edit "Yes"-Requestors can create and publish new requests, as well as, publish draft requests and edit requests that have not been fully approved.
- Allow Create "Yes / Allow Edit "No" - Requestors can create new requests but can NOT publish those requests. The new requests remain in draft. In addition requestors can NOT publish or edit any existing requests.
- Allow Create "No" / Allow Edit "Yes"- Requestors can NOT create new requests, but can publish draft requests and edit requests that have not been fully approved.
- Allow Create "No" / Allow Edit "No"- Requestors can perform NO actions on requests. They can neither create new requests, or edit/publish draft requests.
Allowed Actions After Deadline Settings
After a deadline has passed, the Allowed Actions After Deadline settings work in conjunction with the master Allow Create and Allow Edit toggles to determine whether requestors can create or edit requests.
For Example:
- If the deadline has passed and Allowed Actions After Deadline is set to Allow Edit, but the master Allow Edit toggle is set to "no", users will not be able to edit or publish a request.
- If the master Allow Edit toggle is set to "yes" and Allowed Actions After Deadline is also set to Allow Edit, users will be able to publish draft requests and edit existing requests that have not been fully approved.
Example Actions Allowed After Deadline Settings
In the Examples below, the master Allow Create and Allow Edit toggles have been left on and the deadline has passed.
Allow Create after deadline is not checked / Allow Edit after deadline is not checked: Requestors will NOT be able to perform any actions on requests. They can neither create new requests, or edit/publish draft requests.
Allow Create after deadline is checked/Allow Edit after deadline is not checked: Requestors will be able to create a new request and save in draft but will NOT be able to edit or publish any requests.
Allow Create after deadline is not checked/Allow Edit after deadline is checked: Requestors will be NOT be able to create new requests, but will be able to publish requests in draft and edit requests that have not been fully approved.
Allow Create after deadline is checked/Allow Edit after deadline is checked: The deadline will serve as a visible marker only and Requestors will be able to perform all create and edit/publish actions on requests.
